Following his wedding last Tuesday, Panamera Bar owner Desh Kananura flew out to enjoy his honeymoon with his wife Sheila in the Maldives on Friday.

Desh and Sheila will be spending quality time in the Indian Ocean island nation of Maldives, in its capital city Male (pronounced Mar-lay).

As they flew from Dubai to Male, the newlyweds got a surprise from the Emirates Airlines crew when they were called on to take their flight from the cockpit with the pilots.

“The Maldives is one of the all-time dream honeymoon destinations. These surprisingly diverse resorts bask on secluded individual islands so perfect they almost defy belief. In the Maldives you’ll find brilliant white sands, sparkling aquamarine lagoons and vibrant coral reefs. It’s no wonder this paradise on earth is a top honeymoon destination,” says travel website that focuses on Maldives tours, kuoni.co.uk.

“Male is pleasant and pleasingly quirky – its alcohol-free bars and restaurants jostle with its shops and lively markets and the general hubbub of a capital is very much present,” says lonelyplanet.com.

Wait a minute, did they say alcohol free bars? We hope Desh carried his liquor because this is a predominantly Muslim nation.
