Suspect found dead in Mbarara police cells

Alex Mugisha who was a bodaboda rider in Mbarara town has been found dead this morning in the cells at Mbarara central police station.

The death of Mugisha followed his arrest on Monday night on suspicion of theft after his two brothers Innocent Nayebare and Crispus Mugisha accused him of stealing a motorcycle.

The Rwizi regional police spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi confirmed the death of the suspect Mugisha and he revealed that he was handed over to Mbarara Central Police on Monday by his two brothers for alleged theft of  a motorcycle which belonged to Crispus.

Mbarara Police are holding Nayebare and Mugisha both from Bunusya cell in Kakiika division Mbarara municipality as suspects in connection with the death of their young brother as further investigations for the cause are ongoing.
