kyalyaFormer Presidential Aspirant Maureen Kyalya Walube has responded to rumours that she is mentally ill with a simple question, “so what?”

Kyalya’s Facebook account has been trending the past one week, with the lady from Busoga exchanging abuses with FDC diehard supporters, leading to people questioning her faculties.

Ghost FDC account Tom Voltaire Okwalinga went ahead to fuel the arguments, with claims that Kyalya was checked into a London mental facility.

First Kyalya said those claims cannot be substantiated, before going ahead to say that let her help those against her by accepting their allegations.

kyalya2“Not that I didn’t expect it but I am so grateful that you have nothing against me other than madness propaganda that you cannot even substantiate. I will help you and accept that I am mentally ill as you claim. The real question is SO WHAT???? Does my illness make you more intelligent, brave, courageous, social, than me? Is it a precondition for not becoming President of Uganda which I will by the way?” she posted on her Facebook wall.

She went ahead to question whether the people claiming she is mad are not mad themselves.

“And who amongst you can share, online a medical report that you are not mentally ill yourselves. Have you ever actually checked yourself out?” she asked.

She likened stigmatising someone for madness to the HIV/Aids stigma 20 years ago.

“This is similar to the stigma we had about HIV/AIDS 20 years ago when people ran away from victims and attacked them, haven’t all of you become HIV victims one way or another either thru acquiring it, losing a parent, friend or other family member. I would not be worried about a mad person on treatment as stated by my doctor ‪#‎TomVoltaireOkwalinga, I am more worried at you who see a mad person and pick up stones to shoot at them. For those who have abused me for being mad, can you honestly say you do not have any mad people in your families? And if you do, do you stone them.”

Before this post, Kyalya had earlier posted that her account had been hacked into and by people who were posting the unbecoming abuses that also included F-words as hackers.

We hope hackers didn’t take over to make these claims of madness.
