Embattled Geoffrey Kazinda, the former Principal Accountant in the Office of the Prime Minister spent Shs210m on an apartment in Golden Leaves, a subsidiary of the Sheraton Kampala Hotel in 10 months.

The extent of his lavish lifestyle that was way beyond his earnings was revealed at the Anti-Corruption Court yesterday, when the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) sanctioned three new charges of illicit enrichment against him.

State Attorney Daizy Acio, who represented the DPP, presented the amended charges before the court.  Chief Magistrate Agnes Alum adjourned the case to June 29 for mention.

It is alleged that between 2009 and 2012, Kazinda maintained a standard of living above that commensurate with his income or assets whose sum was established by the Inspectorate of Government to be about Shs83 million.

Instead it was found that he was worth Shs3 billion, with property in Bukoto, Sabaddu- Kyadondo and Mengo. His sleek cars were valued at Shs746m.
