mayor lukwago4Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago says he comes from far. After sharing photos of how he spent his Idd day in his Masaka village, we now believe him.

“Back to the roots. It’s quite refreshing, spending Eid day at our ancestral home in Kabungo, Kalungu, Masaka as I reminisce on those childhood chores,” Lukwago posted on his Facebook page, reliving his childhood days when he used to fetch water from the village and split firewood.

However, Lukwago prayed for journey mercies because to reach his village, he has to use Masaka Road, which has been renamed Massacre Road by many social media users after 28 people lost their lives in fatal accidents last weekend.

“But I dread every single minute spent on the deadly Masaka highway. I humbly appeal to all motorists to drive carefully.”
