Sources in the Democratic Republic of Congo have confirmed that music maestro Koffi Olomidde has been discreetly released from jail barely before his sentence even starts.

As soon as he was released, Koffi called his Kenyan promoter Jules Nsana to have him apologize to Kenyans again on his behalf

Jules confirmed his release saying that the sentence was uncalled for since everyone is prone to making mistakes. “All I can say is that I’m happy for him and he can now go back to business. He made a mistake and he apologized for it on the media. We’re all prone to making mistakes and Koffi is no exception,” he said.

The controversial DRC music star was on Tuesday sentenced to 3 months behind bars for assault and battery after a video clip of him kicking one of his dancers in Kenya went viral. Kenya deported him back to DRC where he was arrested at his home in Kinshasa.
