When our guys went to S.Africa for the MTV Africa Music Awards, they all came back empty handed and some almost sued the MAMAs for fraud or foul play. It did not happen this time around at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA)- there was no foul play.

Yesterday night, the AFRIMA 2016 Awards ceremony was held at the Eko Hotel and Suites Victoria Island, Lagos in Nigeria. Many Ugandan artistes had been nominated in several categories in these awards but we only managed to bring three accolades home.

Eddy Kenzo who had been nominated in seven different categories, triumphed in only one category thus being crowned Best African Collaboration for the Mbilo Mbilo remix he did with Nigeria’s Niniola. This has partly cleansed his MAMA Awards’ tears as he claimed he was cheated.

Another Ugandan award victory came through for Cindy Sanyu who was crowned Best Female East Africa whilst Unique made us the proud owners of the Best Songwriter of the year Award. Big artistes like Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleon,Ziza Bafana and Navio did not make it to the winning list. Below is the full list of winners;
