Museveni congratulates Trump, promises to work with him

Just after Republican candidate Donald Trump was confirmed as the newly elected 45th US president beating Democratic Party contender Hillary Clinton, Ugandan president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has also come out to congratulate him.




“I congratulate Mr. Donald Trump on his election as the President of the United States of America,” said Museveni.

Museveni promised his allegiance to continue the cordial relationship between the US and Uganda.

“Elections in the US or any country are a matter for the people of that country. Our relationship with the United States will continue regardless of which leader or party is leading.”

Museveni promised to work with Trump as it has been with all the past US Presidents.

Trump will take office on January 20, 2017.
