mama-fina2Popular traditional healer Sylvia Namutebi aka Maama Fiina’s husband Major Muhammad Kiggundu and his driver sergeant Steven Mukasa were shot dead along Masanafu Road earlier this morning.

Witnesses say that two motorcycles followed the Major’s car, a Toyota Hilux Pick Up Reg. No D03DF 071 and began shooting when they reached Masanafu Trading Centre. Kiggundu was on his way to Pearl FM for a morning talk show.

Witnesses say that the assailants shot one of the tyres of the car and it veered off into a trench. Kiggundu came out of the vehicle making it easy for the attackers to shoot him dead. His driver was also shot before he could reach for his AK 47 gun.

“My Major was a gift from God and now he has left me alone,” Namutebi wailed on arriving at the scene.

Kiggundu was a former Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebel who denounced rebellion about 10 years ago, was assimilated into Uganda People’s Defence Forces and given the rank of Major.

Both bodies have been taken to Mulago Hosptial mortuary.
