Omusinga of Rwenzururu, Charles Wesley Mumbere, has  been charged with murder at Jinja Court.

Justice John Francis Kaggwa charged  Mumbere with murder and has been remanded  to prison until December 13. More  suspects are at Nalufenya Prison awaiting their  charges.

At least 100 people, including 14 security officers were confirmed dead during the attacks in Kasese that took place over the weekend. These  clashes at the palace erupted after Mumbere failed to comply with security operatives.

Currently UPDF and Police are patrolling Kasese town to maintain peace and security. The police had earlier stated that the king would be charged with treason.
