Unlike many former Ugandan beauty queens, Dora Mwima is still actively involved in helping the underprivileged people in our banana republic. The latest we know is that Mwima is back with the annual charity event – “A Celebrity For Charity” football match.

This time round, celebrities will be playing soccer as a way of raising funds for a ‘Mama Pot’. A mama pot also commonly known as Tuk-tuk, is a three-wheeled passenger rickshaw. The tuk-tuks are a common sight in countries like India, Thailand, Pakistan, Indonesia, Nigeria, Kenya and Tanzania. The beauty queen told us that the tuk-tuks will be used to transport needy new mothers from hospital to their places of abode.

Last year, the event that featured a match between Team Navio and Team Salvado, fetched Shs5m and Mwima handed it to the Bambino Foundation that was used to improve child sanitation amongst newborns. Mwima said she is yet to announce the team heads for this year’s match slated for December 17 at Kabira Country Club. Entry to the event will be Shs10k and Shs50k for standard and VIP stands.
