A woman in Buikwe accidentally killed her husband after he allegedly refused to discipline their teenage daughter. The woman identified as  Elizabeth Nambooze accused the husband of being too soft on their daughter which she claimed was the root cause of her unruly ways. She then turned the anger to her husband and a quarrel ensued. When her husband identified as Fred Ochen threatened to beat her instead, she picked a brick and hit him which led to his death. 3

The fight started after Ochen arrived home drunk, he found Nambooze shouting at  one of their daughters. Ochen forbade her wife from carrying out beating their daughter and instead praised her. This angered the wife and they started to quarrel. The exchange of words became abusive and violent.  Nambooze hit the husband on the head with a brick  and eventually Ochen fell down as blood oozed from the head.

“After hitting dad, mum ran behind the house and she disappeared” one of the children disclosed.

According to residents, the couples usually engaged in physical fights.

“The couple has been engaged in a lot of fights and it’s the late Ochen always turned violate after getting drunk” Kiluguwa chairperson Silvano Ouma narrated.

Buikwe Police arrived  when Ochen had already had his last breath.

The couple were residents of Kiluguwa Kikoola, Buikwe district.
