Following the aftermath of the Kasese clashes, legislators from Kasese threatened to take the matter to the International Criminal Court. It is reported they followed up the threat and have been soliciting signatures intended to pin the President Yoweri Museveni for the clashes.

However, during an interview with NBS of International Criminal Court registrar Herman Von Hebel stated that the legislators were on “mission impossible”

“Their mission is as good as impossible, they have to follow the stipulated processes for one to petition the ICC,” he said. Hebel termed their actions as disrespectful to their government since such offenses require a team of experts to carry out investigations before petitioning to the ICC.

This has come after Rwenzururu region leaders led by Kasese Municipality MP Robert Centenary and Opposition Leader in Parliament Hon. Winnie Kiiza together with other opposition MPS started soliciting signatures last week from various audiences to enable them take Museveni and government to the International Criminal court.
