Kampala Police confiscates loads of ‘Marijuana’ at Arua Park

In a bid to tighten security especially in this festive season, the Police today morning swept through crime hot spots. Drugs including khat commonly known as “mirra” and marijuana  used by weight loaders were confiscated at Arua Park.

According to the Central police Deputy police commissioner(DPC) Joseph Bakaleke the operation was  made following  constant complaints by traders over security laxity in the busy environment.

The random police operation also covered Kampala’s  crowded areas including shopping malls. 

Police urged the management of shopping malls  to enhance the security in their premises and warned the public against use of drugs.Drugs are substances other than food, that when inhaled, injected, smoked, consumed, absorbed via a patch on the skin or dissolved under the tongue causes a physiological change in the body. Most people use it to boost confidence, strength or fight fatigue. However, they have adverse health and mental effects both in long and short term inducing loss of sense of judgment
