Most people think politics is a dirty game but it’s not — Mugisha Muntu

As the leading opposition party Forum for Democratic Change presidential elections draw closer, incumbent Gen.Mugisha Muntu is determined to retain the position. He says he is  preparing the party not only to take power but also change mindset.

“We can’t be focused on taking power as an end itself. We must simultaneously prepare ourselves for transitioning this nation. For us to take power, we must build a strong party which is grassroots-based. We are now changing the mindset to build the capabilities down at the grassroots level,” Muntu stated while appearing on NBS TV this morning.

 According to Muntu, Africa’s main leadership problem is that leaders only focus on shifting blames instead of indentifying the root cause of the crisis. However, he went further to share his immediate intentions when re-elected saying; “There are a number of things that need to be done. We intend, if I become a leader again, to ensure that we increase our presence in the lower levels. Most people think that politics is a dirty game. Majority of them don’t want to venture in politics. Politics here is seen as if it has no standards and rules.”
