Uganda Cranes barred from training at match day venue ahead of Ghana tie

The Uganda Cranes team and all other Group D games at the 2017 Total Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) will not have the chance to test the Port Gentil Stadium ahead of the start of the games on Tuesday. According to CAF rules, all teams are expected to train at the match day venue ahead of a game.

“The local organizing Committee has already communicated to all Group D teams that the main stadium will not be used as per usual rules and regulations,” Hussein Ahmed the FUFA/team spokesman stated.

Coach Milutin’ Micho’ Sredojevic’s team is instead conducing the final session at Stade Sogara. The Cranes coach is expected to hold his first press conference this evening.

Uganda Cranes takes on Black Stars tomorrow at 7pm.
