Controversial Pastor of Synagogue Church of All Nations Prophet Samuel Kakande is back in the news. The pastor allegedly asked believers  to sprinkle  a little  from the “holy” rice to their rice when cooking  to receive  their  heart  desires.

So many  are wondering  where this man of God gets  this rice from. Well it turns  out the man of God has a rice farm. The man of God fell in love with agriculture a long time back!

Pastor Kakande ventured in agriculture way back in 2007. He has been engaged in different farming types ranging from fish farming, maize plantations and rice growing investing over $2m (Shs. 7 billion ). He has farms across the country Kibaale,Luweero, Masindi ,Pakwach and Lwera wetland on Masaka Road.

His farms are a joy to tour since they qualify to the modern standards of mechanization that politicians  usually  talk about.  The farms have heavy agricultural machinery like tractors, ploughs, harrowers, planters, boom sprayers and combined harvesters which allow him setup vast plantations.

“I got these tractors from the United States of America and I am really happy that we are doing great. The rice we have produced this year is just incredible in both quality and quantity. This year and the coming years I strongly believe Uganda will be importing fewer bags of rice from China and India, ” Pastor Kakande said in 2011 when the then Vice President Prof. Gilbert Bukenya visited his farm.

Last year, Parliament’s Committee on Natural Resources summoned him over allegations of illegal sand mining in Lwera, Kalungu district. MPS argued that he was over exploiting the wetland.

The committee decided to put to hold all his Lwera activities including his rice farm. But this did not stop the pastor from producing rice from his other farms especially the multi-billion farm located in Masindi. This year the farms have paid off.
