The Uganda Chinese Community has offered a Shs300m reward for anyone with information about the murderer of the two Chinese women who were killed last month in Makerere-Kikoni. The dead bodies of the two women, Ren-Ju, 33 and Sang-Weng Wa, 34 were  recovered from a fenced residential house days after they were reportedly kidnapped.

The Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura at the time said they were looking for an unidentified Chinese man who was being treated as the prime suspect that had masterminded the kidnap and killing of two women. Kayihura added that the Chinese Embassy had reported Ren Ju, a waitress at Club 7 restaurant in Kololo, and Sang Weng Wa, 34 also a waitress at Chinese Business Hotel in Bugolobi, had gone missing on Saturday February 11.

At the time he stated that Police had “very strong” leads but a month later, nothing appears to have come of these.
