Woman hit by UMEME transformer referred to Aga Khan hospital, Kenya for further treatment

Rose Kayinga Kigozi, the woman who was hit by UMEME transformer along Dewinton has been referred to Aga Khan hospital, Kenya for further treatment. Her daughter who preferred anonymity  revealed to us that she is steadily recovering.

“She is still having pain at the part where the transformer hit her. She has chest pain and also her left arm hurts because those are the parts the transformer hit with greatest impact”, she stated in a phone call interview.

She further revealed that she has left Mulago hospital and has been referred to Aga Khan hospital, Kenya for further treatment.

 When we asked whether UMEME had availed necessary help, she stated that indeed, UMEME had paid all the bills.

“UMEME paid the medical bills and will transport her to Kenya and foot all the bills as well”, she stated.

On April 11, an  Umeme Ltd electricity transformer collapsed and hit her car along Dewinton Road. Police managed to rescue her from the car, a Toyota Voxy van, registration number UAT 591S and she was rushed to Mulago Hospital. She sustained a broken arm and rib.



We wish her a quick recovery.
