Kampala High Court Judge Flavia Anglin Senoga has issued an arrest warrant against Kawempe South MP Mubarak Munyagwa commonly known as “Mugati gwa Baata”.

The embattled legislator might be arrested for failure to remit Shs100m that he owes John Baptist Maali, a businessman over a botched land deal.

The  arrest warrant was issued against the legislator for failure to remit sh20m on Tuesday as he was ordered. The warrant was prompted by Maali’s lawyer Patrick Bugembe after Munyagwa failed to show up in court yesterday.  Munyagwa was released from Luzira where he had spent over two weeks after he signed an agreement with Maali to pay the debt in instalments until full settlement.

He paid sh15m and remained with a balance of over sh85m to settle the payment.
