Police boss Gen. Kale Kayihura.

Speculation is rife that Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura is gravely ill. The Red Pepper reported yesterday that he had been rushed to India in a worrying state.

However, Police was quick to respond to the rumours with the force’s spokesman Asan Kasingye stating that Kayihura is in a “good and healthy state.”

Kasingye also stated that he had just spoken to Kayihura who is away on official duties in Turkey and “he is mad about these reports of the sickness.”

However, social media loves conspiracy theories and many people commenting on the state of the IGP’s health or lack of it are daring him to reach his pocket for his mobile phone record a video and post it.

Police mantains Kayihura is in Turkey on official duty and he is expected back in the country this week. Kayihura’s return will put an end to this social media frenzy.
