Wizkid wins Best International Act Africa BET Award

Nigerian star Wizkid is the winner of the Best International Act –Africa Award. The singer beat off competition from fellow Nigerians Davido, Mr Eazi, Tekno, Ghana’s Stonebwoy, and South Africa’s Nasty C, Babes Wodumo and AKA.

Wizkid was however not present to pick up his award at the special ceremony held in Los Angeles. It is his second BET Award in the same category having jointly won it with Ghana’s Sarkodie in 2012.

Rapper Nasty C, best known for his Coolect Kid in Africa collabo with Davido had initially been accidentally announced as winner last week, but BET apologised for the “glitch”

Wizkid who is currently the most sought after African singer, working with big names like Drake and Chris Brown was however not available to pick up his award. 

The major awards ceremony is on this Sunday evening and the Ghetto Kids made famous by their Sitya Loss video with Kenzo will make history as the first Ugandans to perform on the BET stage when they perform with French Montana.
