Kampala City Council Authority Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago has publicly joined masses to congratulate Member of Parliament elect Robert Kyagulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine. While appearing on NBS TV Morning Breeze show, Lukwago cautioned Bobi Wine to stick to the cause and serve the people.

“Bobi Wine, we love you so much. Don’t be tempted to take the direction of those who are against the struggle”, he stated.

“He (Bobi Wine) is one of us, he symbolizes defiance. All those people in Kyadondo East who voted for him see him as a politician. If you talk about people power, you ride on sovereignty of people. He became a rally factor of forces of change and that change is political.”

However, according to Lukwago, Bobi Wine should not deny that he is a politician as he said;  “I wouldn’t agree with him if he said he wasn’t a politician; that would be semantics. For him to say he is purely a leader is not correct; he is not a religious leader but a political leader. If he is to continue with the message he has put a cross, it will create some contradiction. You can’t say you can always operate alone.”
