25-year-old first year MUK student Raymond Okot collapses after losing Shs2m to conman

As freshers are reporting to the university, the conmen are all out on the streets trying to take advantage of these naive students, most who might be in the city for their first time.

One Raymond Okot had a day to forget yesterday. The 25-year-old, a first year student at Makerere University from Adjumani district collapsed last evening after being conned Shillings 2 million.

“Okot collapsed in front of Nkrumah Hall shortly after returning from Post Bank where he had lost Shillings 2 million meant for tuition to a con man and was rushed to the university hospital.He regained consciousness at around 8pm”, URN reported. 



According to URN, Okot narrated on his sick bed at the university hospital that he went to Post bank to deposit his tuition fees when an unidentified man claiming to be a lecturer offered to assist him bank the money and vanished in thin air.
