FDC’s Gen. Mugisha Muntu has stated that Uganda cannot afford to return to its turbulent past just because a section of NRM MPs want to favour the desires of the president. He states that the country cannot afford to become Somalia, South Sudan and DRC.

“We can’t afford to go where Somalia, South Sudan and DRC are because of just one person”, he stated while addressing the press today morning.

He urged the UPDF to hold the interests of the nation above anything else.

“In whatever they do, they should think of the country and the environment that they will operate in when they are not in uniform. I know for sure that officers in UPDF are intelligent and know what is happening in the country. Put the country first. My hope is that those in the forces will continue discussing amongst themselves and choose a path which is right”, he stated.

When asked about Hon. Evelyn Anite, he described as a reckless legislator who does not know the history of this country.

“I don’t think she experienced what the country went through. I don’t know whether she has read our history. She’s being reckless”, he stated.
