While addressing the press at his Kasangati home today, opposition strongman Kizza Besigye called upon Ugandans to embrace the protest against lifting the presidential age limit.

“This isn’t a partisan thing. We must show that this is our country. We’re slaves in our country. People work so hard and can’t feed themselves. Stop moving with your private vehicles on Tuesday and other actions will roll out until the regime surrenders. This is a countrywide call, like any other campaigns, it will eventually build up. It’s starting today”, he stated.

However, he clarified that the protest is not about him but the population.

“People think this is a ‘Besigye’ thing. It’s not and it has never been. Even during ‘Walk to Work’, I was just an activist, he told journalists.

Kizza Besigye had announced plans to start Walk-To-Work protest today but Police and security operatives sealed off his home early this morning.
