Makerere University suspended from University Football League over indiscipline

Makerere University has been suspended by the University Football League Disciplinary Committee from the competition with immediate effect over continued indiscipline by their fans.

The suspension comes after the Disciplinary Committee found Makerere University fans responsible for causing the Busitema University vs Makerere University match that was scheduled for Thursday 12th October 2017 to be called off after Makerere University fans attacked and provoked Busitema University fans prior to the kick-off of the game.

Makerere University had already qualified for the knockout stage at the top of Group A but has now been suspended from the competition for the remainder of this season and the whole of next season by the League Disciplinary Committee comprising Bainamani Bernard, Katabira Davis and Haruna Kebba.

As per the competition rules, Makerere University has 48 hours to appeal the decision if it wishes to do
