Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Betty Nambooze is back on her feet. This follows a successful surgery she underwent at Manipal Hospital in India that was facilitated by parliament.

However, for the youthful Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake things are getting worse as he yesterday missed the recommended surgery as he failed to raise the required amount.

According to the Parliamentary director of Communication and Public affairs, Chris Obore, the institution is not able to fund the treatment of MP Francis Zaake, because the MP did not follow the right procedures for getting treatment abroad on government funds.

“The reports from the specialists do not indicate that the problem could not be handled from here,” Obore said.

The two opposition MPs suffered such serious injuries a month ago following a fracas in Parliament where the speaker had ordered immediate vacation of some MPs due to misconduct.
