Today morning  the Forum for Democratic Change leaders and supporters have been in jubilation as the newly elected party president Patrick Amuriat took oath at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi.

Outgoing president Gen Mugisha Muntu  handed over to Amuriat. In his speech, Muntu vowed to always be available for Amuriat in case he needs advice but warned him about the people that will surround him.

“When it comes to capturing of power and transforming the country, we will be there. Patrick Oboi, you are entering a very difficult position but I will give you advice and I will be there. Be careful about some of the people you’re going to work with.” Muntu stated

However, Muntu talked about the crisis in the party saying; “We can’t heal the country unless we heal ourselves. People are looking at us [opposition] to heal the country. We are going to make consultations. My hope is that we can all move together in one direction. Even if there was a situation where we might separate, we are not dealing with personal matters. There are people out there suffering.”
