Opposition party leaders join hands, vow to block age limit report presentation and reading next week

As the nation awaits the presentation and reading of the age limit report by the  legal and parliamentary affairs committee next week on Tuesday, opposition presidents led new FDC President Patrick Amuriat have this afternoon held a press conference and called upon the public to rally behind them come next week.

For Patrick Amuriat he went ahead to also call the cooperation of the security forces to protect and allow their ‘demonstration.’

“We believe that the security forces will cooperate with us with whatever we do. As we do this, we do it within the provisions of the law. We don’t intend to cause harm to anybody. The other parts of the country should join the population in Kampala on this cause. On the day when this bill is to be tabled, we call upon all people to assemble at Parliament.” Amuriat stated

He further urged a section of MPs who have not yet joined the struggle to embrace the ‘Togikwatako’ campaign as he said; “We would like to talk to the hearts and minds of MPs who don’t believe in us. This is our country where I believe we all co-exist. Our struggle is very much alive. We are not going to relent. We are here to tell Museveni that this is being pushed down the throats of these people.”
