Our very own Joy Doreen Biira who was a top KTN news anchor and the official East African correspondent for Deutsche Welle (DW)  has thrown in towel for a lucrative job with the Ministry of Mining in Kenya.  According to Kenyan news website The Pulse, it has been reported that the TV Girl made the transition towards the end of last year, to settle as the Advisor, Strategic Communications officer at the ministry.

In 2012 January Ms Biira joined as a news anchor and reporter with KTN. Five years later on, Ms Biira was picked as East African Reporter for Deutsche Welle (DW) covering environmental issues and exciting solutions from Africa and Europe.

After landing the lucrative deal, reports emerged up that she will leave KTN for DW, however, she maintained her job as she also worked with Deutsche Welle.

Doreen started her career as an intern and was later employed as a weekday Morning Show co-host at NBS Television with Shawn Kimuli here in Kampala. In 2008 she relocated to Kenya to work as the weekend Breakfast Show at Capital FM.
