Today is the day to confirm who is the real Azam Uganda Premier league title contender or pretender is.  Two mouthwatering fixtures will be played with table leaders SC Villa hosting third placed SC Vipers while defending champions KCCA FC is far away in West Nile to face Onduparaka FC.

Despite Villa’s past poor games record against Vipers with only 5 wins, 10 losses and 10 draws in 25 meetings, Villa have improved since relocating to Masaka Recreation grounds. The Jogoos have not lost a game and have dropped only three points in draws against KCCA, Maroons and Police.

Another worrying statistics for the Venoms is that Villa has only dropped two points in the possible 15 in their last five games. However, Vipers will be fighting to avoid a nine-point stretch if they are to remain in the title race. In the first leg, Vipers narrowly edged Villa in a 1-0 win thanks to Tom Masiko’s brilliant free kick.

While in a beef surrounded encounter in Arua, KCCA FC will be hoping to end their winless trips to the West Nile against Onduparaka FC. Only SC Villa has managed to pick maximum points at the Green light stadium and it came this season. KCCA attained a frustrating barren draw against Maroons hence giving Villa five points lead advantage. Shaban Mohammed, the former Onduparaka captain will be the center of attention facing old friends but he was confident ahead of the tie saying; “I am strong hearted and will play to my best.  I look forward playing well and helping my current club towards winning the match and attaining our set ambitions.”
