Courts of law will not accept victims of torture to appear before them — Chief Justice Bart Katureebe

The Chief Justice Bart Katureebe has joined the masses voices in condemning the recent acts of torture at the hands of security operatives. Katureebe says security agencies especially police have made it a habit to apply incompetence while handling suspects.

“It’s a constitutional right for any suspect to be treated decently. I strongly condemn acts of torture and we are going to deal with officials on individual basis,” Katureebe stated.

He further revealed that courts of law will no longer accept victims of torture to appear before them.

This comes at a time where legislators Hon Robert Kyagulanyi and Hon Francis Zaake are nursing serious injuries which were allegedly sustained at the hands of SFC officers while arresting them in Arua.
