Kayihura drops Mwesigwa as PSU commander barely a month in office

News coming from the office of the Inspector General of Police dated January 10, indicate that Good Mwesigwa who has been commandant of the Professional Standard Unit  has been replaced by Assistant Commissioner of Police John William Okalany from the directorate of Human Rights and Legal Services.

“This transfer and appointment takes immediate effect,”reads  part of the report.

Mwesigwa has held this office barely a month following his appointment on December 15 when he was replaced Joel Aguma who is now in detention at the Makindye military barracks battling charges related to kidnap of Lt.Joel Mutabazi, a former bodyguard to Rwanda president Paul Kagame.
