Man who hid from own wedding feigned madness, couldn’t afford proposed glamorous wedding, relatives insist on big day

Have you heard about the man who reportedly hid from his own wedding? Well, a one Phillip Tumwebaze, an ICT expert and a resident of Kampala’s Kisaasi suburb chose to ‘disappear’ on February 17, just a few weeks shy to the big day.

After his “disappearance”, the family reported the case to Police sparking fears of a possible kidnap. However, Police found the groom-to-be staying with a one Emma Otima, his friend in Ndejje Wakiso.  According to reports, he was seeking “refuge” from the wedding!

A source we spoke to revealed that the groom-to-be was financially constrained and had insufficient funds for the ”dream wedding”.

“It was all about money”, the source stated. “He ran away because he had no cash. He has really ashamed. We feel sorry for Mercy Twinomujuni”.

The source further revealed that Phillip feigned mental illness when he was probed about his dramatic actions.

“He was speaking uncoordinated words. We feared that he had ran mad”, he stated.

Friends and Kitende Alumni fundraising

Close friends, relatives, in-laws and Old boys and girls of St. Mary’s Kitende insist the wedding will take place come March 3. They are thus collecting funds for Phillip’s big event.Phillip and Mercy Twinomujuni are expected to wed this weekend.
