On Tuesday this week, Vipers Sports Club ascended to the Uganda Premier League summit on goal difference after sealing it off late 3-1 against bottom placed Masavu FC at St Mary’s Stadium turf in Kitende.

Defending champions KCCA FC put up a dominant display as they humbled URA FC 7-2 at StarTimes Stadium thanks to Muhammed Shaban’s star performance that saw him appear on the score sheet four times. This Friday, Vipers will host KCCA in a highly anticipated encounter at St Mary’s Kitende.

Some may urge that it’s not a title decider but it’s a vital game for both sides in their race to supremacy. Last game the rivals played at Kitende, the venoms won 2-1 but their first encounter this season Kasasiro boys came on top in a 3-1 victory. Second placed SC Villa will be in the stands wishing for a stalemate as ahead of its Saturday trip to Kakyeka Stadium against resistant Mbarara City.
