NBS TV’s Simon Muyanga Lutaaya sent to prison over failure to pay Shs153m election petition costs

Celebrated media personality Mr Simon Muyanga Lutaaya who hosts ‘One on One with Tamale Mirundi ‘at NBS TV has been sent Kirinya Prison over failure to clear over Shs153m election petition costs.

He was issued the fine after him losing court petition challenging elections results where he lost to the Bulamoji MP seat to NRM candidate.

Earlier this year, Jinja High Court deputy registrar, Mr Jesse Byaruhanga issued an arrest warrant after he failed the fine and also kept away from court to explain why he had failed to pay.

According to the January warrant of arrest, Muyanga was to be arrested and sent to Kirinya prison or now Nalufenya and his property sold off to recover the money.
