He loved yellow, NRM party’s colour so much. Hon. Abiriga was many times referred to as the yellow boy. Buyaga West MP, Barnabas Tinkasimire has called upon mourners to honour the late by wearing yellow.

“We have lost Abiriga but we will continue carrying on his banner. They accused him of wearing yellow; we should all mourn the colonel by putting on yellow throughout this period,” said Tinkasimire.

He condemned the assassination saying the legislator was innocent and social.

“It is very sad on the side of legislators to lose a colleague who has been so innocent and social in the name of Hon. Abiriga. When I learnt on Abiriga’s assassination, what rolled in my mind was, why among all people would someone go for Abiriga? They could have targeted people like me who are vocal and controversial.”

“Whatever the intentions of the killers are, they are misplaced, if they are making a political statement then this is a wrong statement”.
