Song Review: Ykee Benda struggles in beautiful Amina’s friend zone

Ykee Benda has had a fast rise since breaking through in the hit song, ‘Farmer’. After he got firmly planted in the mainstream, he has been watering his garden and of course, producing new fresh singles one after another. The bald  singer made us fall in love with “agriculture” when he dropped the hit song, “Farmer”.

Wrapped in Luganda euphemism, the song’s charming lyrics introduced to us a young man with a robust mind. In a short span, his catalogue is really impressive, a perfect testimony of his hardwork.

Singer Ykee Benda proposes to his girlfriend

Ykee Benda’s new song “Amina” already has things looking pretty good.

Ykee Benda bends his rhymes round the character Amina, a beautiful girl that he is trying to woo. He adopts a carefree adventurous style as he sings about a girl playing too hard to get. He represents a young man’s dilemma in the game of love. Trapped by the strands of the friend zone, Ykee Benda struggles to escape to the girl’s heart as he complains, praises and pleads. This is very desperate yet artistic portrayal of love as escaping the friend zone remains as elusive as Uganda’s attempt at fighting corruption.

‘Amina’ video is big colour, fun and everything in between.
