Kayihura excelled in impunity but deserves a fair hearing — Kizza Besigye

FDC’s Kizza Besigye has spoken out on Kale Kayihura’s trial. Kizza Besigye, a victim on several occasions of Police brutality, under the tenure of the former IGP has called for a speedy trial.

He stated that Kayihura excelled in high-handedness and impunity.

His Facebook read; “Finally, after more than 2 months of (illegal) detention, former Uganda Police chief, Army Gen Kayihura was in the dock. Kayihura, as IGP, excelled in high-handedness and acting with impunity. However, he too, deserves a fair and speedy hearing! Can OTHERS learn?”

Kayihura was charged before Court Martial, Makindye on three accounts; failure to protect war weapons, kidnap of Rwandan refugees and illegally arming the notorious Boda-boda 2010 group.
