Police arrests minister Kibuule’s four domestic workers over twins’ drowning

Police has arrested four domestic workers at the home of Minister of Stae for Water, Hon. Ronald Kibuule, to help with investigations into the circumstances that led to the drowning of the minster’s two-year old twins at the home’s swimming pool yesterday.

The arrested include: Scovia Nabubwama, a housemaid; Peace Nankunda, another housemaid; Lawrence Kibaya, a shamba boy; and Agripa Kumanya, a security officer. All of these are currently in police custody undergoing interrogation., and Police has said that if any is found at fault, they will face charges of rush and neglect.

Police has also given an update about the post-mortem examination that was yesterday evening conducted by its officers at the City Mortuary in Kampala.

The Director of Police Medical Services, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Dr. Moses Byaruhanga has said that the postmortem found nothing suspicious during the examination of the bodies of the children.

“There was nothing suspicious, the children just drowned,” Dr. Byaruhanga said.

Presently mourners have crowded Hon. Kibuule’s home in Mbalala, Mukono, with Vice President Hon. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi as the chief mourner.
