Lira Central Police Station has released all the suspects that were in their custody following an explosion of a fuel tank that was near the station.

The suspects have been set free to save them from the fire.

Yesterday afternoon, a truck registration number UAS 004Q carrying a fuel tank overturned in front of Lira Central Police Station. Today, residents together with police made attempts to raise it and in the process it exploded.

Socialite Don Chris says no one can arrest him after allegedly defrauding Ugandans of over Shs500 million with fake promises of high-paying jobs in UK and Canada

“It is still too early to know what sparked the fire or the extent of the damage caused by the fire. We shall release an official. Right now we are still very busy trying to control the fire,” said Mr David Ongom, the North Kyoga regional police spokesman.

No death and injuries have been recorded but several motorcycles and bicycles have been destroyed.
