Two days ago, singer cum politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu popularly known as Bobi Wine set off for Jamaica to perform at one of the biggest music festivals in the country.

The Kyadondo East MP has since professed undying love for Jamaica – a country whose language features most in his vocabulary as the biggest promoter of creative arts.

“From generation to generation, the consciousness of this nation has been awakened by music in all its forms. Nothing has marketed this country to the world more than its music and the arts,” Bobi Wine said.

The concert is slated for today, January 18 -19 at the Grizzly’s plantation Cove in St. Ann Parish Jamaica.

However, Bobi Wine will be performing on Saturday alongside artists like Patoranking, Mr. Vegas, Queen Ifrica, Garnett Silk Snr, Jah Cure, King Kong, Half Prit, Horace Andy, and Kenyatta Hill among others.

The concert is a drug- free, violence-free, and non-alcoholic event.

Despite the government and police interruptions on almost all his concerts, the musician was invited to sing in Jamaica on a concert that mainly features reggae roots and conscious music.

Our snoops informed us that Bobi Wine is very excited at this opportunity to perform on a stage that has graced very many reggae legends such as; Garnett Silk, Queen Ifrica, Buju Banton, Beres Hammond, Joseph Hill, Capleton, Sanchez, and Jimmy Cliff among others.

Started in 1994, the Rebel Music Festival has been organised annually focusing on roots and conscious music and is also one of the biggest festivals in Jamaica.

It was pioneered by reggae artist Tony Rebel and offers the most authentic feel of roots reggae, culture, healthy living, and conscious music.
