Mike Mutebi, KCCA FC Head Coach

Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA FC) Head Coach, Mike Hilary Mutebi has been handed a four match ban and Shs2m fine by the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) Disciplinary Committee for bringing the game to disrepute.

During the club send off of former KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi, the gaffer claimed that all of the last 20 league titles had been fixed and several clubs had special budgets to support the action.

Mutebi went ahead to mention some names of those who allegedly are aware of the practice.

These comments prompted the local football governing body to immediately take action by summoning Mutebi and the colleagues he mentioned like Uganda Revenue Authority (URA FC) Football Coach Sam Ssimbwa and Fred Kajoba of Bright Stars.

“Coaches Mike Mutebi of  KCCA FC, Sam Simbwa (URA FC) and Fred Kajoba (Bright FC) have been handed financial fines (UGX 2M each) for bringing the game into disrepute. Simbwa and Mutebi are also banned for 4 matches each. Mutebi’s matter forwarded to FUFA Match Integrity Committee,” reads the statement released by FUFA.
