We all very well know that sex is a taboo for priests in the Catholic Church, however, due to the ever-growing clergy sex abuse scandal worldwide, Pope Francis has admitted that the church is aware of priests and bishops sexually harassing nuns.

“It’s true. There are priests and bishops who have done that,” Pope Francis said during a news conference aboard his jet as he returned to Rome from his trip to the United Arab Emirates.

“I think it’s still going on, because it’s not something that just goes away like that,” he added before stating that the concerned authorities are working on solving the matter.

Sources indicate that the papal admission follows an outcry from the Vatican’s women’s magazine last week, wherein the magazine decried sexual abuse of nuns saying victims were being forced to have abortions or raise children not recognised by their priest fathers. The magazine continued to specify that such incidences are common in India, Africa, Latin America and Italy.

With such elusive alarms, last year it was alleged that the Catholic Church began on groundwork to open formal debate on an issue of allowing longtime married men to aspire for priesthood.
