Fans of the legendary Awilo Longomba were taken to Soukous heaven as they reunited with the musical genius of the Congolese artiste last night at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

Awilo took revelers down memory lane with some of his all-time bangers like ‘Coupe Bibamba’ and ‘Karoline’, allowing the hundreds who had thronged the venue to reminisce about the good old days as some unleashed dance strokes they had not had to employ since the late 90s.

Awilo who started his music career back in1995 is no stranger to Uganda. The star had last come to the Pearl 20 years ago and grew to love the country so much that he even infused some Luganda in one of his biggest hits. On Friday evening at the Serena, it was the happy reunion all had hoped for.
