The Katiikiro of Buganda Kingdom, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga has warned government over the continued arrest and imprisonment of opposition political players.

Speaking at the ‘Emmwanyi Terimba’ 2019 campaign in Busiro, Mayiga said that the recent imprisonment act done on Bobi Wine has just caused more panic around the country. Mayiga says the reasons for his arrest are farfetched and they are portraying a negative image on Uganda.

“Why arrest him (Bobi Wine) for issues that were already passed by parliament a year ago,” Mayiga wondered.

The Katiikiro says Bobi Wine has in a short time gathered a huge following that always want its leader to be treated and handled with maximum respect. He advised government to instead engage him in a dialogue that can bore fruits for both camps.
