Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Asan Kasingye’s engagement with the common person truly defines one of police’s mandate of protecting lives and property. Kasingye is a popular tweep whose huge following and engagement on his tweets has earned him the Ugandans On Twitter (UOT) Presidency.

Last night, Afande Kasingye narrated in a tweet how he came across a one Immaculate who was stranded a few minutes after giving birth as she was on her way to do shopping.

According to the humourous senior officer, he found the lady at ESSO corner, Social Security House where a bodaboda rider was trying to dodge the heavy traffic in order to quickly rush her to hospital.

Due to a huge crowd of both persons and vehicles, Kasingye said the boda rider could not make his way to the hospital in time but luckily enough he (Kasingye) spotted the situation and decided to give a hand.

“I arrive just in time. 20 minutes amid heavy traffic. Delivered her to Police Hospital Naguru. Mother and son, now ok. God, it is You,” part of Kasingye’s tweet reads.

Will tomorrow check on her, pay hospital bills & reunite her with family. Thank God that she didn’t collapse in the car to excessive bleeding. Thx to the nurses that I called & were waiting. She was stabilized, & her little child got some clothing. Motorists, let’s save lives. https://t.co/IbSs1SfoT7

Kasingye’s helping hand did not only stop at rushing the woman to hospital but he went ahead to say he will check on her today to clear all her medical bills before making efforts of reuniting her with family.

Matooke Republic commends the golden heart of Afande Kasingye and hope other Ugandans pick a leaf, or a whole branch.
