Field Force Unit of the Uganda Police has been heavily deployed at Mulago Hospital as family and friends wait at the mortuary to receive the body of deceased ‘People Power’ member and local artist Michael Kalinda aka Ziggy Wine.

The Firebase musician passed on last night after succumbing to injuries allegedly sustained due to torture following his abduction.

“It is very painful that our brother had to go through this. Last night we visited the grieving family at Mulago and they are completely devastated,” reads part of Bobi Wine’s mourning post.

Ziggy was reportedly abducted by unknown people about three weeks ago and taken to an unknown place. He was later dropped a few days ago at Mulago hospital half-dead with two of his fingers cut off and one eye plucked out.

Ziggy Wine’s remains will be taken to Ganda village in Nansana Municipality.
