On Tuesday this week, Uganda Police burned and destroyed over 105.7kgs of narcotic drugs worth Shs3.7bn at Nsambya Police Barracks and you will be surprised who they said is the main man behind the multi-billion shilling drug chain.

Director of Criminal Investigations Grace Akullo revealed that a one Peter Odong is the brain behind the distribution of narcotic drugs in Uganda and Tanzania.

Odong is a 23-year-old student at Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) in Kampala and he is on a higher level, literally, than his peers as far as distribution of drugs is concerned.

Police said that one of the ways Odong distributes these drugs is by mixing weed oil with dough to make cookies and doughnuts and sells them to those that want to go to higher levels.

It is said that Odong would make over Shs100m per month from cookies and doughnuts. He was truly living large. Some of his clients include university students and foreigners that own multi-million shilling properties in Kampala.

The narcotics destroyed included 98.80Kgs of heroin, 4.4kg of a mixture of heroin and cocaine, 0.69kg of cocaine and methamphetamine and 1.13kg of cannabis. Deputy Inspector General of Police Muzeyi Sabiiti suggested that the money retrieved from Odong and other suspects be used to construct a rehabilitation center for drug addicts.
